rear disk brake conversion for eg with gsr brakes..
does anyone have any good links that could help me take off my old drums and replace with these niffty "new" rear disk brakes i have.. and does anyone know if it would make a difference if i put a gsr brake booster on too? let me know..ive got access to a master cylinder also if i need it.. thanx~!
There's no need to upgrade the brake booster or master cylinder when just doing a rear disc conversion.
1. Undo the ebrake cables from the ebrake cable.
2. Undo the bolts connecting the LCA and UCA to the trailing arm.
3. Undo the strut bolt.
4. Undo the rubber brake line form the hard brake line.
5. Undo the two bolt connecting the trailing arm bushings to the frame.
6. Undo the toe arm bolt.
7. Drop the trailing arm and ebrake cable brackets from car.
8. Installation in reverse.

Also, why go through the toruble of replacing a brake booster and not the Master Cylinder?

it will make a difference if u put on a gsr brake booster and master cylinder...the gsr master cylinder is usually the biggest u can get...they're usually 1inch mater cylinders compared to the 7/8ths or 15/16 that are usually in civics...it will def upgrade your brakes even more

You don't need a larger master cylinder because you won't be pushing more fluid...

You won't be pushing more fluid over the drums. I think if you just swapped a larger master with just the rear disc conversion, you could lock up your brakes real easily.
