Yes.

If you are sitting in the drivers seat of a US car you are on the left hand side of the car (that applies to everything right/left about a car).

Hence why they call Japanese cars Right Hand Drive.

Kinda like the front of an engine is the timing belt side. Since Honda uses the transverse configuration then we assume the exhaust side as the front. K-series would be intake side as the front.

Either way the front of an engine is always the timing side.

Too answer this question: as far as mechanics/us everything is as sitting in the driver seat. Front left is driver side front.

To a body man/paint shop it is usually just the opposite, everything is as looking at the car from the front of it. Left side is passenger and so on.
Not sure if all are that way but I have ran across a few that operate that way.

I'm a body man/painter...now I write estimates, and in this business the left side of the car is always the drivers side, passenger is right side.

Thats good to know. I do stand by what I said though that I have met some that are opposite.

I am not a body/paint man so left is drivers. Just thought I would let the OP know that some people will have a different opinion so its always best to make sure both parties start on the same page to avoid confusion.

Thanks for your side.
