Default Looking at a '95 Civic DX Sedan, Any useful info about this car would be very helpful.

I am going to look at a '95 Civic DX Sedan 5sp in about 12 hours. Other than the generic things, are there are things that these cars are known for? Any and all information about this car would be handy. I have done some searching around here, but have not found very much that is helpful.

So far from here I have found that the car is, or at least SHOULD be, an EG8 with a 1.5L D15B7 engine.

The owner gave the following info:
1995 Honda Civic DX
4 Door Sedan
137,000 Miles
Runs Excellent
28-33 Actual Miles Per Gallon
5 Speed Manual Transmission
All Stock

Thanks in advance. I will try searching "EG8" and "D15B7" now that I know to look for them.
Brian
:EDIT: From my previous experience over at Acura World (Friend drives a '96 Integra DC4), there was a site that listed all stock parts numbers and specs for just about every Honda/Acura ever made world wide. Does anybody know of this site?

Price tag is $1800 OBO due to missing Stereo and cosmetic crunch on Drivers door. Blue book is $2,750, $3,250, and $3,675 for Fair, Good, and Excellent respectively.

Also, does anybody know any good OEM/Aftermarket parts sites for Hondas? I have only had (very bad) experience with Andy's Auto Sport.

hondapartsdeals.com for OEM honda parts & diagrams

The other thing civics are known for is rather high resale value. You don't want to get ripped off. The other thing is rear quarter panel rust - its rare to find a rustless civic in ANY state that uses salt in the winter. The other crap would be usual wear items - ball joints, suspension bushings, shocks, motor. D15's with over 100k will start to burn oil a bit. If you can, check compression, and definately take the valve cover off & look for severe oil stains beneith.

The good thing is that the engine is the most disposable item - almost any other motor is a better choice, fairly cheap to get, and very easy to install.

hondapartsdeals.com only has Accesories for civics from 2000-2005 and 2006-2007? Do they think that nobody drives hondas over 7 years old? There are also only 7
Maintenance Parts for my car? Am I doing something wrong?

:EDIT: This Trial account is REALLY annoying for legitimate users as I only get 2 more posts today.

Any other help concerning this vehicle would be much appreciated.

a good OEM site I like is Hondaautomotiveparts.com
also since its a D-series you could go over to D-series.org they have a lot of info and are a good site as well. I also have a 95 sedan DX and havent had any problems with it. You may want to replace the head gasket though if it hasnt been upgraded to the metal one cause they are known to blow since its paper material. Other than that look for the occasional rust in the rear wheels, and make sure it doesnt have any fram damage as that could come back to haunt you. Good Luck!

Damned I hate people. I had an appointment to go look at it. I confirmed the appointment 2 hours before I went over to the guys house. I got to his house and this conversation happened.
Him: "Are you Brian?"
Me: "Yeah."
Him: "oh yeah I just sold the car by the way"
Me: "What the F**k!?"

That's because most Honda accessories are discontinued.

But you have to click on PARTS if you want to see the parts for you car. That site is best for parts, not accessories. If you want lips, headlights and OEM optional equipment, you're basically going to have to buy those parts privately or from aftermarket websites.

I have a '98 Civic and almost anything optional that I might want for my car has been discontinued for years upon years.

Use this link to see the accessories that were ever even offered. Some of the ones listed are discontinued. If you order discontinued items you will not be charged for them and on your invoice they will be listed as "DISCONTINUED".
