Help my oil pressure drops after warming up it gets to about 45- 50 psi and then drops as the car warms up all the way down to like 8-15 psi whats that mean??? were is the pressure suppose to be at . at idle?????? i checked all bearing and oil pump pick up its all good but i think it might be pump .... or is it the oil i use 5-30W should i use thicker oil its a 93 civic ex d16z6 Turbo'd

 

you can try thicker oil, its your choice. how many miles are on the thing, do you have any leaks reguarding the oil line to your turbo, ect. I am thinking that when its cold, it should have like 90-100 psi and 30-50 when warm, but I've never had a guage hooked up to mine, just the dummy light. one of these days I will get around to it though. Oh, also does it rattle at all when warm(lower oil pressure)? Also what rpm are you idleing at and are you taking your reading at idle?

umm my car has 280,000 miles on it yeah yeah thats alot but i have rebuilt the bottom end .... rods pistons crank the lines d to the turbo dont leak and it idles at about 750-100 rpms ... it dosent rattle or anything no motor noise..... im stumped i have torn it apart 3 times now.

 

Dose anyone else know what a d16z6 oil pressure should be at idle and warmed up???? or have any answers for my other ?????? any help please im stuck in a ruttt
