Default Question about gas....

okay this may be a stupid question but its better to be safe than sorry. The owner before me put mid-grade gasoline in her car but under the speedometer, it says premium only BUT if its just a 4-cylinder then why does it need to have premium gas in it IF it really does?? I owned a Mitsu Eclipse GST before this and it required Premium gas but that was understandable because it had a turbo on it. So I am confused and any feedback would be great! Thanks everyone!!!

if it says premium gas only theres a reason why. The car might need richer gas to perform as it should. not only turbo'd or ss vehicles require premium gas!

well then definately you have to put premium only unless you want your car running like a minivan. if you want to avoid problems later on just put premium. what 10-20 cents more a gallon (come on)

it needs premium gas due to its high compression and its tuned to run on it.

If you run cheap gas in your GSR, your performance and fuel economy will suffer, and you really won;t save anything. It shouldn't harm the engine due to the knock sensor (provided everything is stock, especially the ECU).

You'd be surprised at how cheap people can be.
