Need Help With Harness/Wiring for B-series Swap Into CRX
Alright, I have everything else together and ready to do my swap except the harness/wiring thing. I need to know what harness to use with my set up below:
Car: '91 CRX DX with stock main harness.
ECU: Chipped P28.
Swap: OBD1 converted JDM B18C.
Accesories in hand: OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness, '93 Civic EX engine harness.
So, what do I do to make it work from the chipped P28 ECU to the original main CRX harness to the JDM B18C?
Thanks for your help

I just got back from the junkyard with a jungle of wiring harness in my hand. Since my CRX was an auto converted to manual, and based on the search info that I got on H-T, I decided to pull out the existing main auto harness and swap in the main harness from a manual EF Civic which I just pulled at the junkyard. After that, I'll do the DPFI to MPFI conversion myself.
Two questions:
1. once I conveted it to MPFI, I should be able to hook everything together starting from the MPFI harness into-----> the new main harness, from the new main harness into-----> the OBD0-OBD1 coversion harness, and from the OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness into-----> the chipped P28 ECU right?
2. Since the original CRX gauge cluter won't accomodate the JDM TypeR engine, how do I swap in a B-series gauge cluter such as a typeR one?

Thanks Ryan, can you clarify more on the "speed sensor"? Which car do I get it from and where is it located inside the CRX?
the speed sensor is in the transmission, right where the speedo cable goes in. only a couple bolts hold it down...
did you get the wiring Q's answered already?
you can source o2 sensor & distributor plugs from your '93 harness....

use d series sensor in tranny, use dx engine harness, and add obd1 parts, do dpfi to mpfi, or have me do it, and use ecu jumper

it might cause you more problems to swap engine harnesses. i've been told (by droppedcrxsi among others) that harnesses are year, model, & even trim specific. changing that could doom your from the start!
i don't think there are any appreciable differences between engine harnesses from manual or automatic vehicles.
just use a good dpfi--->mpfi guide, double check your *** off, and only do one step at a time unless you're damn sure that cutting corners is the way to go. one example of 'cutting corners' is injector wiring. dpfi--->mpfi normally calls for you to wire in a resistor box. but obd1 injectors don't need it.....so you'd be doing that step unnecessarily.
good luck

Thanks "mahtma" and "droppedcrxsi", you two are great
I'll do the DPFI-MPFI first and try that out before I go with swapping out the entire main harness.
