Default Sunroof troubleshooting [89 rex si]

Button works, motor spins, sunroof stays stationary. I've messed with it a bit but can't seem to figure out the problem.

Any suggestions?

P.S.
Sorry if there ends up being a lot of different questions from me. I'm new to the scene and just trying to learn as much as I can.

Thanks

Hmm, everything seems hooked up. It's extremely hard to view the tracks etc because it's stuck (closed). When the motor spins it doesn't look like it's even trying to open. How would I go about taking it off to check out the tracks and whatnot?

well....can u push it by hand up and does it move after that? try the manual crank and see if it rolls back....u gotta somehow get the top panel sliding back either by hand..or however and then look at the tracks

BTW i have changed out my sunroof twice, and just did a friend of mine with a CRX...haha so removing and installing the entire panel, and tracks is so easy for me...

the rear of the sunroof needs to go up and clear the roof(its probably hitting the roof)try lifting the rear of it then try the switch.

i had to drop the whole assembly last week to replace the mounts

Thanks =]

I attempted to lift the rear of the sunroof above the roof of the car and it refuses to clear it.. it seems if I push it up any higher I'm gonna snap something. When I push it up by hand and try the button at the same time still nothing happens. The motor just spins.

Your best bet is to take out the headliner and actually observe what's going on with the motor and tracks. I've seen some threads on here where a bolt came loose and screwed everything up.

Yeah, all of that is already removed
Nothing looks too out of place, although I don't have much to compare it to.

The tracks etc don't move at all when the motor is spinning. Nothing moves or attempts to move.
