Default 1990 HONDA CIVIC HATCHBACK

Today i found a 90' Civic STD
4 speed manual
the price was $1150
and said: *Needs New Engine?
*Runs Great?

the lot was closed so i couldnt talk to anyone

some rust on arms, slight rust on left rear quarter panel, but was painted over
no dents

and im wondering what i should offer

keep in mind im 16, so im still learning about Honda engines
so does it have a D15B1 stock?

sounds too much for a car that needs a new motor, i don't know how you want us to estimate how much to offer for the car when we don't have pics to decide on.
do you have any?
1150 sounds like too much for a shell

how could it "need a new engine", but still "run great"?

also, it won't have a B15B1.

thats probably what they mean that it has a new engine
when you go to take pics make sure you read it good
and if there asking 1150
i know for a fact they will take 900-1000
so make an offer

The guy who i talked to told me for $1700 he would install a new D15B1 and sell me the car...said no to that

besides the rust on the arms, the body was in very good condition, interior was nearly mint

Engine wasnt to good, idled fine but u could defintely tell the oil was burning, and also the 200k miles already on it worried me

i was thinking for the time being i could just buy a D16 and at least have 100HP instead of the stock 70hp-1 cylinder, at least until i make enough for a B-Series swap

he said it was including price of car
but i really dont want to to get another weak *** D15 in it.
He showed me the place were he gets his D series from for cheap, but i still dont know what im going to do yet...
but i know he wont take $300 cash

maybe at least $800

also DX's have 5 speed manuals right?
and STD's are 4 speed manuals?
