Default heat shield/wrap ??

I just installed my SSR header today and one of the techs suggested that I get some heat wrap/shield to protect some cables/wires and the powersteering lines. Anyone know if this is true and where to get some good heat wrap/shield?

I found this, but I'm not sure

Here's a link to htec17's header on his car which you can see what I'm talking about:

I found high temp heat tape at Pepboys in the Exhaust repair section. I wanted a heat shield for my CAI. They "said" it would reduce the heat exchange from the Radiator hose to the intake hose.

This sounds different, since it involves much higher temperatures you might want to see what they have. They carried several different brands.

Shoulda' just ceramic coated the header... Any heat shielding will do really, just make sure it is good quality, I like the stuff that has fiberglass in it...

I had some on my upper intercooler pipe of my Supra and noticed a difference in power (wish I would have just had the thing ceramic coated but I had it powder coated instead)... Heat shields work, and work well... I also had a coolant hose wrapped in heat shielding because my EGR was melting it every couple of months... I got the heat shield made for a spark plug boot, zip tied it to the hose and was done with it...

I would look into a Swaintech coating if you can afford it.
