How cheap you can go on a K
So my 02 civic dx is underpowered. I knew that when i bought the car 2 months ago. K24 long blocks are somewhat cheap and common due to all the soccer mom crashing their elements and what not. After axels, conversion harness, mounts and other misc items, what would be the cheapest i could do the whole motor swap for? Ive seen the k24 long block on hmotorsonline.com for 900 before shipping. I plan on eventually doing the k20a head frankenstein swap.
the cheapest you can PROBABLY do a k24a4 (cheapest k24) swap is probably somewhere around 3000-3500 and this is bargaining for each and every piece.
k24a4 - 800
5spd tranny - 700
mounts - 500
axles - 300
prb ecu - 300
do your own wiring (save $300)
subframe 150
customize exhaust to fit your current setup - $?
etc
it's definitely doable.

pass, that's a k24a4, and that's JUST the shortblock, k24a4's complete can be had for 900. not worth the trouble of buying that motor then searching for everything you're missing.
