Default **gauging interest on a possible suspension thread**

I've noticed, more so lately it seems, people looking for pictures of various generation Accords to show the drop of the car to help them decide if they like the look or not of a specific suspension setup.

now, there is an Accord Picture Thread that serves it's purpose well but it's not easy for people to search through to look for suspension setups and that. Thats fine because the Accord Picture Thread is just that, for pictures only. I'm proposing something slightly different.

What I'm asking you guys/gals is if you'd like to start a single thread, sorta like the picture thread, for people to post good side pictures of their dropped Accord and list the suspension setup. This would give people a look at how different setups look on the car. You could go a step further and give a brief, short and to the point, comment on how the car rides and/or handles.

Now I would handle this thread much like that of the Accord Picture Thread, similar rules would apply. I would only want to see posts containing a specific picture or two showing the drop, list of suspension mods and a brief comment on ride quality/handling. I would not want to see comments and other discussions taking place because if people are looking for info in the thread they don't want to be reading through comments and questions to get to a post that has useful info.

The thread won't be stickied, it'll be linked in the Accord FAQ to make it easy to locate.

So what does everyone think about this idea or

I'd say it's a good idea. Along with a list of suspension mods, I think those who post should also include their rim and tire size, as it can affect both the ride height and ride quality.

The only bad thing about it is that you know you'll have to police the thread just as much as the Accord picture thread.

It's an ok idea I guess, I mean I don't believe it's too hard, people really just need to do some research and it's pretty easy to see.

Coilovers give you the biggest drop, alot of springs/struts/etc tell you what they drop your car.

unfortunately, I thought of that and you are probably right But I think it'll make it easier for some and make for a nice thread to reference so it may be worth the extra effort.

true.... even though some people do ask about that, I think the biggest thing for most is the look of the drop on the car and the ride that ??? springs and ??? struts will result in.

sounds like a great idea to me. might be nice to eliminate some of the most common questions that come up all the time.

i think it would be a good idea. some people run wierd spring and struts combos that come out looking good. i would have liked one when i was looking for my drop.

Trust me, some people simply can't read, some won't care, some forget. For one reason or another, people ignore the rules and post things they shouldn't. It happens alllll to often.

i like this idea. Sometimes, I really want a pix with this kind of springs. It would make a better addition to the picture thread.

Also on another case, if you can somehow put somewhere in the profile a link named, "My ride" and it would be pretty cool to see what the member's car looks like and how they fix it up. Instead of looking through the Accord picture thread and trying to find his ride. IDK it would be cool. Just a thought.

great idea! i can go back in both recent and archived content and find 30 threads listed on specific suspension setup questions on what to go with and what to do, and how the ride handles. DO IT! i'm kind of tired of answering these threads for peoples.

yes, it will be emphasized but it is also in the Accord Picture Thread and as I'm sure some of you have seen, not everyone follows it.

I'm sure that it'll have to be policed, but I still think it would make for a useful thread for people.

In my mind this wouldn't be any different than say the picture thread or the 1/4 mile times thread.

You can sorta do this already. There are a lot of people who do actually do it. Just go to "My Profile" and then go to "My Biography". You can post pictures of you car and list your setup (or whatever you choose to put in there). Then when someone clicks on your username to see your profile, below your profile it'll show your bio which in this example would be pictures of your car and the current setup/list of mods. Try it out and see how it turns out, I know I've seen a lot of profiles where people have done this.

I don't have the ability to make any changes like that anyway, only one person does and he's the site admin. I don't think this is something he will add though because of the fact you can already do it by using the bio in your profile.
