Default Want to swap head from D15B8 to D151B block

have 90 civic with D15B1 engine with bad 16 valve head - timing chain slipped. Can I put an newly machined 8 valve head from 92 civic with D15B8 engine "that needs ring job" on it? will it run? or just start over and machine 16 valve head.

All D series blocks and heads are interchangeable, so it will fit AND run...But yes, you can use an 8 valve head, but it would be a better route to have the 16 valve head machined...(Better performance than an 8 valve)

I have a question! What would be my gain if i put a D15B7 head on a D15B8 block? I know that the motors have like 30hp differents. Will I have an gains?

Thanks for your input! My concern is the manifolds - do they match up? They call for different gaskets.
I think I got both problems solved - I got a line on a used D15B1 engine and I think this will solve both my probs! I'll put the head on the Old D15B1 (that had bent valves) and put the block under the just machined D15B8 head (the engine with bad rings) That what I want is a cheep fix.

Thats why I was asking about the D15B7 because I got a CRX off of a buddy with it in it. The motor needed to be rebuilt so I rebuilt it and could never get it to work in the crx. I just go a EG with a B8 in it but I want to switch out the head with the B7.
