Default starter problems can someone please help?????

i have searched and found a few things... my car is not starting.. i turn the key and nothing happens starter doesnt inguage... i checked all my wires and grounds etc i even took the starter out and had it tested passed... im confused and i never had a problem like this with my car.. i have a brand new red top optima batttery and brand new cable conections... im not even geting a click.. what does that mean starter is bad or someting to do with my ignition.. i dont know how it happend car was working find and sat for 3 days and now this.. weird... also i heard that the starter has a 12v from the battery and then a solenoid 12v.. and that only has 12v when key is turned all the way on ... right now i have pure 12v to both power... is that good or bad? and if anyone could tell me what is causing this, also if i have power to the starter how come its not spinning? cans ome one please help me i need this car to start.. any info or idea's will help greatfully thanks in advanced...

my buddie had this same problem but for him was the clutch relay so you could start by checking there before you go and spend like 80 bucks on a new starter
let me know how that works

try jumping the solenoid. turn the car to the on position, make sure its not in gear , then hold a small piece of wire(maybe 6" stripped 1/2" on both ends) to the large (+) cable on the starter then the other side tough the spade terminal on the starter, it should fire right up. If it doesnt then the starter is bad. AS stated earlier it is most likely the clutch pedal switch, just look above the clutch pedal it way up there, it probably broken.

i have a brand new red top optima dry cell battery and brand new red top autozone battery just bought both and i got new conectors... minty fresh in that area... would a alternator being bad or a bad alternator fuse under dash prevent the starter from starting and make it click? does anyone know about this?

you should not get any smoke in the car, you might have grounded something by accident. If you found it to be the clutch switch why did you jump it, just get a new switch problem solved

BINGO the car is Finally started... i pulled out the plugs and they were soaked in fuel so i cleaned them and put them in and it fired right up. so it was a few new grounds to frame and cleaned plugs that got my beast back alive
