dose anyone know what it means when the oil light flickers when car is at idle ??? like coming to a stop it will flicker alittle bit but then will go away as soon as i touch the gas????? motor is a d16z6 93 ex civic

is that all it means cause i just put new oil in ....i had a friend tell me its crank bearings but hes a muscel car guy any help some one???

 

When i had my Mazda, the light would flicker because it barely had any oil in it, so there would not be enough oil pressure.

Maybe your pump is failing

 

how much oil did you put it. I've got a y8 and i put in about 3 1/2 quarts. Check your oil stick bro...

 

it means check your oil they're low!

 

and if you have enough oil them your pump is gone of something is restricting your oil flow (spun bearing)
