Default exedy hyper single vs competition clutch twin disk

so like the topic says, reason for posting here is because the cars are used for drag racing.

so we're finishing up some all motor k builds to compete in street stock/pro am all motor/street power classes, hoping to make somewhere along the 300whp 200 ft lbs mark. the difference in price between the 2 clutches is about 300 dollars, and was wondering what set ups or who have used them here and what your experiences were? is the hyper single enough? i know with the power level we are at a twin disk is not a necessity, but just wanted some feedback from people who have used one or both, on fi or na cars. is the jump worth it, or put the money elsewhere? or just some feedback. thanks!

I would have to say go with the comp twin, i have had some issues with the exedy hype single. I have used alot of comp twins and they have all done the job.

the exedy twin is about the same cost as the carbonetics... and thats about 200 over the price of the competition, anyone ever ran the competition clutch twin disk? so the twin disk is the way to go then.. now which one?

Exedy twin! Hands down the best twin disc around. I have put a couple hyper singles on some K series but the disc is very thin and wears out quickly on high hp daily drivers. We are testing the Exedy twin for the k series right now and it is simply amazing. They might be adding the technology from the K series twins to the B series stuff, that will be awesome.

There are a bunch of new features in the "next" Bseries... But all of these new features already exist in the Kseries.... Ceter boss hub design, larger diameter discs etc.. Its really a cool piece.

Lastly, one thing to consider about the Exedy, is that it is a direct fit bolt on, NO CUTTING, GRINDING OR MODIFICATION required. Which is more than I can say for some of the others...

I think I may be one of the ONLY people here who have ran an exedy hyper single and currently running the CC twin. The exedy hyper single is a nice clutch, but it did not hold up to my sub 400whp turbo bseries, but its not really rated for that much power either. The CC twin is a great clutch hands down. i personally think comparing a hyper single to a CC twin is apples n oranges. Now the exedy twin and CC twin would be more comparable. I do find it hard to justify paying so much for a single disc clutch (hyper single).

All in all, you can't really go wrong with the CC twin, race proven and affordable.

Sorry Yoni. Anyway, the clutch feels SO good compared to some other twins I have used on the K's. to Exedy engineers.

The RPS twin carbon I used in my crx had vented floaters and discs and seemed worked awesome for me! Keeping a clutch cool always is a good thing!
