Someone on 8thcivic was running 245/45-17 on OEM Si wheels w/ no rubbing issues. He was on stock suspension though. But it really depends on the wheel offset, width, how low the car is, road condition and how you drive it.

Two hundred and thirty five mm wide=9.25" wide. the 45 is 45% of the width equals side wall heigth. I think that includes the part of the tire that sits inside the rim, but im not possitive

So we have someone running roughly 9 inch wide rims?

on comptech springs
i have 225/45's on the stock 17x7's.
i have 235/40's on my 17.7.5 CE's
if your gonna run a 235's, upgrade to atleast a 7.5" wide wheel.
my 225's have a nice fat side wall. and a 235 would not work right on the stock wheel. if you run a 235 go w/ a 40 series tire or you will definitely with out a doubt rub.

like i said, i fit 245's on the stock rims (17x7). just because the tire is 9 inches wide doesnt mean the rim has to be 9 inches wide

Just found your forum, wife's 07 Honda Accord SE needs new tires, its on 2015 Accord rims, going to buy 4 new tires and I've been searching the net to see what the tallest widest tire will fit without rubbing of course, it's stock ride height, ít has 215 50 17's on ít and I don't like the look of small wheels and tires, especially in the big wheel wells of the Accord, alot of good info on your forum.
