Default Register my car in BC

Im moving to BC in May and i will have to register my itr. I know ill have to pass an inspection but thats alright cause the car is in very good shape. Im mostly worried about my mods such as lowered suspension, performance camshafts, header, catback exhaust, bigger fuel injectors + a tuned ecu. May i have some problems to register my car because of that ?? How much should i expect to pay for insurance ? Thanks in advance guys

Jonathan

How old are you? Accidents in 5 years? Tickets?

Prolly $1500-1800 per year.

You will have to pass emissions testing before you can get insurance (AirCare)

stock compression should pass. no need to change injectors

tuned ecu is a must - might want to run a bit on the lean side.

the NOx limits are very low - but you can pass with aftermarket cams with the proper tweaking

Bring a record of your insurance with you from QC if you already have any sort of discount. It will be transferable here when you insure the car so you don't have to start from scratch. Also, the first time you insure the car here you DO NOT require AirCare. Out of province cars get a one time "by". You will need a provincial inspection from a certified shop. Canadian Tire can do it but I'm not sure how they'll respond to aftermarket parts. I'll ask around for you here a see if I can find a shop that will give you an "easy" pass.

<-----who would like to welcome you to BC

Welcome to BC, Insurance will vary a lot depending where you live...20 min outside the city makes a huge difference. Hope everything passes inspection without any hassels!
