side marker question
seems like a newb question; tried searching on here, but didn't find too much useful info...
as per their release from the factory (and the way that Honda intended them to be off the lots in Japan), are the side markers for the JDM front end (or any Honda/Acura that has side markers, for that matter) supposed to remain on constantly, or are they supposed to remain off and blink with the corner lenses/turn signals?
i've been reading a thread about the JDM front-end wiring on Team-Integra, and these appear to be the two differing views:
1) they are not supposed to blink and are supposed to remain lit constantly
2) they are not supposed to be lit until the turn signals are activated; they blink with the turn signals
i'm just curious as to how it's really supposed to be. any info?

From what I can recall, they are supposed to only illuminate (blink) when the turn signals are activated.
Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

You're correct. There was a similar thread in T-I, and the oem jdm way is for the sidemarkers to light up only when turn signals are on. They do not blink simultaneously with the corner signal lights or alternately... they just stay on when the turn signal dial is used.
Anyone know if they blink when the emergency/hazard lights are used? If they do, do they blink simultaneously with the corner lights or not?

all the oem jdm headlights with city lights work this way:
first click on the ****= citylights/tailights/interior lights ONLY
second click on the ****= headlights/citylights/interior lights/tail lights
apply turn signal= blinkers/sidemarkers only
at no point in time should any orange signal bulbs have constant current running through them.

this is what i did:
USDM Parking light --> JDM City Light
USDM Blinker + electrical tape on one of the contacts --> JDM Blinker + Splice into JDM Sidemarkers
JDM Fogs --> Separate switch powered by power windows fuse.
now.. i believe every lights up correctly, except for the fogs. the way i have wired them allows me to use the fogs w/o the headlights being on. I do this sometimes at dusk, where its getting dark, but not dark enough to use headlights.
The electrical tape allows the blinkers to blink only when signaling. Test which contact is the right one before bolting everything up.

That isn't how they're intended to function. As others here have stated, they flash along with the turn signals or hazard lights.

Oh... ok. I was reading up on another thread that said the OEM JDM way was with the sidemarkers staying on if the signal lights were being used. I should have known better, haha... cause I originally thought they blinked with hazards and turn signals, lol.
