Default 5th gen...should I upgrade base suspension to SH?

I just picked up a 97 prelude base model and I heard the SH suspension is stiffer because of the different strut and taller springs of the SH.

My question is, if I'm NOT planning to lower it, is it WORTH it to try to swap in the SH's strut assembly for better handling, if not....stiffer suspension?

Another question, are the Base and SH sway bars basically the same?

thanks

I wouldn't hassle with it, If you want a stiffer suspension but not that much of a drop go with tien s tech sprins as for the sway bars and busings, the are the same. For a good setup I would install front and rear strut tower bars, a tie bar and nuespeed or suspension technique sway bars plus the tien s-techs and kyb struts

No. You'd need the SH subframe too. Just get good shocks and GC coilovers. Keep the height stock.

You wont be able to swap much between the base and the SH besides maybe the upper arms and struts which are slightly different. As for the rest of the suspension it is completely different. Spindles have two ball joints on the bottom on the SH. The lower control are is way different. The subframe part is different and sway arms and links are different and also even the tie rod ends are different. So unless you plan on switching out the complete front suspension and spending a lot of money dont do it. I actually did it on my base because I had a extra parts SH. Unless you find a good SH that is wrecked for parts, I wouldnt do it.

Did it improve your car? Do you have any pics? Did you swap in ATTS too?

I secretly want to build my car w/ ATTS and 4ws so that It is completely unpredictable in corners.

I think the upper arms are worth getting as I believe when puting the SH on the base you gain a degree or so of negative camber...
crap, or is that when you put the base arms on the SH? I forget.
