What performance upgrades should I do first on my '07 Si?
I haven't even picked up my Si, but I'm already putting money away for parts. I know the Si is very capable 'out of the box' but like most of you, I want more.
Aside from the HFP lip kit, and wheels I will be getting (not sure on wheels yet), I want to start deciding on what performance upgrades I can to start things off.
Do people typically start off with a cold-air intake, and upgraded exhaust? What else can I do that will produce some actual performance gains?
I come from knowing rock-crawling trucks and engine performance is not something I'm normally that concerned with (it's all in your gear ratio's and suspension for the most part)
Thanks for your input

Jesus not again, no more noobie questions, aggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
instead of wasting money on wheels, or on "cosmetics" get your I/H/E and hondata reflash and you'll be good to go.

But idk man, why you asking us? Its your car, do what you want with it. If you've got some parts picked out and want some opinions, then we might be able to help you out

yo if i was you id START wit CAI, HEADERS , then HONDATA REFLASH the intake itself is sweet but after the reflash u will fall in love wit the car ALL OVER AGAIN! as far as the exhaust goes you can hold out a lil longer. for me the reflash has been the best mod ive gotten for mine.

That's what I've heard, too. But just remember, getting the reflash without I/H/E (or at least any of the above) is pointless... its meant to be used after you have some bolt ons

i'd leave it stock and toss a K&N filter...the car rips nice for what it is... if you want the most bang for your buck, just charge the damn thing.
If you already want to make it faster by wasting 2500-3k in bolt ons u might want to start with a FI setup...Evo or STi. You should just enjoy the Si for what it is...a pretty quick, blast to drive econo-machine.

I didn't ask for financial advice. I bought the Si because its a great car with great potential to be even better.
This is a hobby, not an investment. If I want to so-called "waste" money on mods, then I guess millions of people are huge idiots for modding their vehicle
I just don't know where to start at the beginning. I'm not a mechanic myself, but I sure enjoy driving. I have access to a Toyota tech who can do most everything I need so thats not an issue.
Regarding the reflash
Does the reflash make your bottom end feel more sluggish, or is it unnaffected?
Is there a header I can use along with the reflash that DOES NOT remove the catalytic converter? Is it possible?
What are some popular headers used on the Si?
Thanks

I totally agree... My last vehicle was a 2000 Audi A4 and I am soooo glad I never got the 3,000 dollar supercharger or even aftermarket rims on that car cause I put several grand in fixing it while I was still paying it off... I ended up trading it in for the Si...

I got an 4dr si insted of a legacy gt becuase for the price you can tbeat it. I wanted something I could tune and the si is were its at. I was asking the same ? about mods and have done a good bit of research. I found that a CAI, hondata reflash. and header was a great start. I started with a injine CAI, and next is the reflash. but I am having some suspention issues and did not want to take a chance on voiding the warenty just yet. I will put a few more miles on it than I will reflash, I cant wait!! as far as headers I have heard some bad things about DC people are actualy loosing power so I am going to wait a bit on the header to see what comes out. than I will throwing a charge on it I am tossed up on what to use ( turbo ) or (supercharger)
