DIY Headlight Haze...wet sanding... Only on outside of headlight or inside too?
So I finally got an HID kit, (6000K Prolumen) and as I was installing it, well...I noticed my headlights are teh major ****!
So I heated them up, opened em up, and am doing black housing and all, just getting a little custom look that I always wanted...some parts painted some not, Ill post some pics when done...
anyways the headlight covers look terrible, like someone took a yellow **** on them and smudged it around... lol so i read alot about wet sanding them, first 600 paper then 1000 then 1500 then 2000 .... then buffind with polish like meguiars plastix ...
Anyways my question is, ... do I only wetsand the outside of the headlight and polish that part.....is that the only part that gets messed up and hazed....or should I do the inside as well....I really dont care how long it takes, and am not looking to go the "Quick" way and save time, I have time
and I want to make em look perfect....should I do the exact same process to the inside of the headlights covers?

don't touch the inside. the outside is whats mssed up...fix that. if you start sanding the inside youre in for world of hurt man. also, if i were you, i would first try a good buff with various polishes before attempting wetsanding.
*edit* i'm assuming you have a 96-00...

Best of luck with is space. I've tried just about everything and mine look okay for a few weeks and then go right back to the same hazy crap.
If you wetsand them and keep some sort of polish on them, they should stay clean for a good while. You just have to keep maintaining them once they are clean with Plast-X or something like that. I wetsanded mine over a year ago and they still look good. But yeah, don't sand on the inside. If anything, just wipe it down to make sure you didn't get any fingerprints inside there or something. Good luck.
