What is your current setup, and what are your plans for the future (setup)?

Setup is pretty much stock nothing great a little internal work school took up all my money lol... but for future mods mostly likely ill Boost the B16 then ill eventually will have to get the stage 2 clutch.. or ill just buy friends GSR and built that motor and eventually swap . .

i have exedy stage 1 and 8lb flywheel, it takes some getting used to but its nice. I recently decided to boost so I had to buy 6 puck. My exedy has less than 900 miles on it and I will be selling shortly

exedy stage 1 organic and 8lbs flywheel

had a 6 puck before and it was a pain in the ***. the pressure of the exedy is just right. and the fidanza revs nicely. i stall more often though.

Thnx guys ... same here with me if i do go with boost ill have to upgrade but that wont be for a while so i just decided to get the stage 1 . . . is just some ppl were saying the flywheel is "too light" and that im going have issues with it but i doubt it i dont see y i should only thing is that my revs will fall faster but i could adjust to that

you wont have any issues with it after you get used to it, might stall a few times but down shifting is nice

Yeah i am running the fidanza 7.5lb flywheel and a 4-puck daily on my built and boosted motor and its really not that bad, takes some getting used to, but its cake once you have sat in traffic a few times

And as for your statement about the stage one not being able to take power i will personally have to disagree with that, i ran my stage one exedy on around 210tq and just short of 300whp for quite some time, and when i took it out after beating the **** out of it for 20K it still had plenty of life left on it and i never once noticed it slip

OH nice what type of boost setup are you running . . i had a friend that he ran a stage 1 with the same fly wheel on boost.. your right it didnt really slip but after a while it did start sliping but he also did beat on his car like there is no tommorow ... but if i do go with boost later on ill still keep the clutch till it wears out.. and then get the stage 2

Interesting, what determines whether you need to upgrade your clutch then with FI. Everyone I talked to said to upgrade and now I am curious if I just wasted money on a clutch I dont need

Honestly when it comes to upgrading your clutch it is better to go overboard then well...underboard . You need to decide what kind of tq numbers that you car is going to put down and pick a clutch from there, but also determine what use the car is going to have. For me i wanted something sprung and easier for the street, but also something that is going to be able to handle the track every once in a while and some 6500rpm wholeshots .

So i looked around a lot with the budget that i had available and found a nice deal for a competition stage 5 clutch that was sprung and was going to be able to handle over 300ft/tq.

Well I ahve the exedy stage 1 in now but was told to upgrade. I will have around 300 whp on stock internals with a NON daily driven em1. So i bought a 6 puck sprung, but dont know if I need it now. It wasnt too much but I could use the oney for my FI setup

Clutch's are not rated to hp, they are rated to tq.

So assuming that your EM1 still has a b16 its not going to make much tq anyways i wouldnt be too worried about it honestly. But if you have the new clutch i would just put it in and get it over with. A lot of people have mixed reviews as far as power levels that the exedy stage 1 can handle. Some people say that their's slipped heavily with not much over 250whp where mine held up fine with just under 300hp.

But there is nothing worse than having your setup all done and ready to go, and then your clutch starts slipping.

I am not going to advise you to go either way, its going to come down to your budget, and then later on either getting away with it, and well... not
