Supermega update, with PICS!
Some may remember that I had a decent off while riding in Ojai with some fine folks from the R6MN:

Well, this was in October of last year (obviously) and while I haven't been posting updates in real time I now have a supermega update thread on where I'm at with my riding as of right now.
1st things first... damage pics! All in all it was not bad, pretty much cosmetic minus the shift lever. Oh that and the whole broken clavicle/shoulder separation bit.

After checking to make sure the shift rod was straight, I ended up using a hammer and a vice to straighten the lever.

Notice how the bracket for the "no cut" frame slider completely failed, leaving the bike to slide merrily along the ground on the left side fairings.

to binning it. Notice my boyscout style improvised sling, BE PREPARED!
I could have taken Shu's advice and left it mechanically sound/cosmetically dumpey, but Im ****.
I found a complete set of red/black fairings practically mint for $450 so I swooped it. The gas tank stays black, since it wasn't damaged. The decals were hideous so I removed them. Equally hideous are my photography skills:

Said straightened lever:

I got Galfer SS brake lines a while back but never mentioned it.

I also got Pazzo levers and a Scott's damper, I just never made a post. The Pazzo clutch lever held up nicely in the crash.

I also got a Graves frame and clutch slider setup. I kinda effed up the hole cut job on the right side but oh well, its not too bad. Also a new bar end.
My helmet took a pretty nice ding too:

So I replaced it:

If I am to continue sport- riding I will need a full suit. Dainese Laguna Seca:

That's my Dad's messy garage, not mine!
Spine protector is essential:

Shorty gloves are comfy but they don't offer the protection of the gauntlet style. Dainese Full Metal Racer:

Once I had finished physical therapy and got the bike sorted I started riding again. But my confidence was damaged more than my bike and body combined. I needed guidance!
Enter Kieth Code's California Super Bike School. I attended Level 1 on Easter Sunday and it was the best experience I have had on my motorcycle. Besides the fact that the school is set up and run solid, the personal instruction you receive is invaluable. My on track coach had identified a bunch of problems with my riding and provided precise feedback that helped me to improve tremendously throughout the day. I would venture to say that my riding has improved by at least 80% after one day on the track. And with this being my first track day experience I would totally recommend going to a school first if you haven't hit up a track day yet. Anyways now Im absolutely addicted. I went to the Jason Pridmore STAR school last Monday at Buttonwillow and am planning on more track days throughout the summer. The STAR school was pretty fun as well, the best part being a two up ride with Jason. He is RIDICULOUS FAST! Buttonwillow is a really fun track too, a good mix of fast and technical. Totally different then Streets of Willow, but I loved it! I have pics from CASBS but not STAR as I rolled out solo.

Thats all for now! If someone can help me resize pics I have a few more.

Good to see you and the bike back on 2!
Also, nice gear! as a fellow D-*****, i'm all hot and bothered now.
finally, what is it about those R6MN rides? Someone's always going down on their rides.

the tape helps keep the lights intact if you happen to crash. makes cleaning up alot faster.

ah I see. Reminds me of when I had to help prepare for a hurricane a long time ago. They put masking tape on the windows they couldn't board up, so if they broke, glass didnt fly all over the place.
Thanks for all the well wishes! I truely feel more passionately about riding now than ever, Im just glad I wasnt one of those people who crash and get spooked and quit!
