My first WERA race...Summit Main
1. Never decide to race the night before with a bike that isn't even drilled for safety wiring.
2. I never want to see another drill bit or twist anymore safety wire for as long as I live.
3. Racers are the nicest people in the pits.
4. Racers are the meanest, most murderous, out for blood, violent motherf'ers on the track. LOL
5. I smashed my personal best by 3 seconds.
6. I like to race.

Don't hate on my gangster *** Sharpie race numbers!

Congrats! It was fantastic weather there this weekend (I was over on Jefferson). During a few breaks we'd watch you guys come flying through the chute, nuts!

16th out of 20. I was gridded on the second to last row of the second wave and wasn't fast enough to catch up. I pretty much finished where I started.

Mid-low 1:30s. My previous best was a 1:36 on stock suspension so to knock off three seconds my first time out without giving it my all blew my mind. Shock and forks made all the difference. I'm shooting for high 1:20s this season if I can shake some of this rust off, add a little more power, and lose my winter fat.
What kind of times have you been putting down? I know you've gotten pretty quick, probably somewhere in the mid-high 1:20s?

Lightweight Superstock, Lightweight Superbike, and Formula 2.

I guess the SV held it's own. I didn't run against 600s or anything. I did notice a flat spot in the power going down the straight though. I'm going to put my Power Commander back on to see if that fixes it.
I was running Dunlop 209s. They felt good, but I think I had a little more confidence when I was running Pirelli Supercorsas last year. I didn't feel as planted in the carousel and thought I should've been running faster from T5 - T8. Then again it might just be the new suspension needing an adjustment. I dunno.
Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I am at hte 1:28's and 1:29's pretty solid.. but on monday I only had on session and that is all I was busting out. I felt I could have gotten to the low 1:20's - stupid shift rod. ARGH.
Are you racing the weekend of May 5th?

That one's required for my first two race weekends to let everyone know I'm a Provisional Novice (ie - don't beat me up lol). After that I get my permanent race license and won't need the t-shirt anymore.

I think you can;t wreck the first 2 either? I can't remmeber. I remember a couple years ago there were guys in t-shirts in the top 5, I believe one race I saw someone win that was in a t-shirt.
