Default D16Y7 Turbo.. Installation

So I might be possibly getting a turbo from someone at ClubCivic, and all else I think I would need to get is intercooler, BOV, and injectors.. Anyways I heard it's a pain to install them DIY, and takes a LOT of time. If I brought it somewhere to get it done, how long would it take and how much money would it cost? Meh I would DIY but knowing me I'd mess something up, and I need my car. Any suggestions? Thanks

judging by what you wrote... I wouldn't try to do it yourself. research a bit more and maybe look for someone in your area or one of your buddies who has installed a turbo before to help you out. try http://www.turbod16.com , http://www.d-series.org , http://www.homemadeturbo.com and if anyone can add to the list of websites, please do.

Well let's see.. how mechanically inclined are you? bolting up a turbo manifold, running oil lines, running the charge pipes, all vaccum lines, mounting the intercooler ..some good fuel management and a chipped ecu

There's an extensive write up on this with lots of pic.. search the forced induction forum

its not really hard to install by yourself but like someone said b4 i would read up on how to maintain a turbo charged car. just b/c you have someone install it for you doesnt mean you can keep your car reliable.

Yeah it all depends on your tune & fuel management. Always check oil level. Get a cheap turbo timer.. Run Full synthetic

This is all you need..
