Default DX to EX guage cluster.

I really want a tach, so I'm going to purchase an EX cluster here shortly.

My question is, how do I set the EX cluster to the same mileage as what I have. Or even swap my mileage over to the EX cluster? Thanks alot! (btw, I did search, and didn't come upon anything helpful)

If you aren't worried about the legality of rolling the odo back, then I would say go for it. I saw a link to a "how to" thread not too long ago. I'll try to find it.

You don't need to, just unscrew the speedometer on the clusters and switch them that's what i did, it's like 4 screws on the back of the cluster.

Easiest, but you can also get some dentist picks and pry two apart and move the middle one.

I do it with needle nose pliers and a steak knife.

just do that, thats also what i did and seeing as its a dx cluster to an ex it shouldn't be a problem. i did the same thing with my ej8 to an si cluster but the speedo is off because of the diff face lol.

I've had the cluster out before, and I know what the DX one looks like.

You just undo the screws on that block part in the middle of the back and it comes apart?

yes, basically take the speedo (with your mileage) out of the dx cluster by unscrewing it from the housing *try not to touch the face of it because oily finger prints will be on your nice new cluster* and swap it into the ex one... close it back up, plug it in, and enjoy your new tach.
