Default USDM Type R seats in a 98 Civic EX

Will USDM Integra Type R seats bolt directly into a 98 Honda Civic EX or do you have to modify them to fit? Any experiences anyone wants to share. Thanxs

I'm pretty sure they just bolt in, but whatever it takes put them in!! Those are the best stock seats around.

They don't just bolt in. You have to swap out the rails, which are easy but take a bit of work (approx 20-30 minutes a seat). Just take the rails off your seats and swap them over to the Type-R's. Simple as that.

yes, they will fit using the itr rails, but the need to be modded a little. otherwise, try and swap the rails with your ex ones.

if you use the itr rails, the 2 modifications that need to be made are with the rear 2 bolts. the front 2 bolts should line up and tighten down, but because the integra right rear rail is flat and the civic's is bent down, it needs to be modified. the left itr rear rail also needs to be modified due to it being a little longer than the civic's and the bolt will not line up because it covers it. all you have to do to fix these 2 problems is, once the front rails are bolted down, take a hammer and bend down the right rear rail and then bolt it down. its very simple and fits perfectly once bent. at this point by looking at the left rear rail, you should be able to see what the problem is. there is a little bump at the end of the rail that needs to be cut off (use a hacksaw ) in order to have the correct fitment for the bolt. your also gonna need to find a sturdy washer to hold down the right rear rail. once that is done, reinstall the seats and make sure that the washer overlaps the rail that you just cut in order to hold the seat down in place. long explanation, but simple task.
