Almost every car except for BMW's VW do it. The Syncro in reverse is designed so that honda boys don't try to bang reverse acting like they have a 6 speed. 1st then reverse, it syncs the tranny speed to the motor speed so that the gear selector is spinning slow enough to engage reverse.
