Default K20 CRX trouble at the track with Kpro

Here we go i went to the track for the first time this past sunday... Now after tht tune ive been driving the car on the street with no problem.. As of 10 30 yesterday morning while going through tech my rev limit 9k worked fine but my launch control set at 5800 will not cut off.. Kpro is set on speedo so once you go over 3 mph lauch conrol is cut off and allows you to rev higher.. Yesterday my car did not let me rev pass 5800rpms no matter how fast or in any gear.. my buddy hooked up his laptop and couldnt communicate with my ecu through K manager... I also hooked his kpro up to my car and his ecu wouldnt let me pass his lauch control witch was set at 4800rpms... the only thing i have done electrical sence then was hook up a fan switch... Norris told me that any bad ground and or blow fuse can cause the ecu to freeze.. i sence looked over all my fuses and or grounds.. i took off the one ground for the fan switch and didnt help... that was the one and only thing i have changed sence the day it drove fine and the track day... has anyone had this problem? PLEASE help me out

Pull the Speed Sensor out and check to see if the sensor is working properly.

We ran into the same issue. found out the the speedo is working correctly but
the gear inside the trannis on the dif. is not making contact thus not allowing the Kpro to disengage the 2step.

you speed may have gone bad or has no power going to it.

Make sure you are not running the ep3-r program. It senses for the electronic power steering.

Really I don't remember saying anything about a ground or a conversation with you about your car cutting off at 40000 rpm. You should call me so we don't have a he said she said thing going on.

^yes thanks so much for all your help. im pretty sure ill see you up there soon. im looking forward to seeing that car on some slicks.. well i took my car to work last night.. im getting my power and ground off the VSS itself with the signal.. also in the harness. i also swapped VSS off a known good one off a friends stock RSX.. still no signal in the ECU.. I can only look at the signals with my laptop i cant change or control anything like launch control or rev limit or anything like that... if i could just dis arm two step i wouldnt care.. Does this make sense to anyone?

make sure the daughterboard didnt fall off the main board... i have seen a ton of kpro's do that.. the screw that holds the daughter board down will vibrate out, bounce around, cook **** and the daughterboard will fall out of its socket leaving you with a fubar'd ecu

Before you go through all this mess, try your K pro on another car or try a different K pro on your car. Most of the times, about 99% of the time really, it is not a Kpro fault when people are having issues.

It could be so many things... from bad USB cable to bad sensors.. I have had all kind of weird crap happen to my K car over the course of time.

If you can get another K pro, try that first

Make sure you have all of your updates.

Sounds like a power issue or USB issue too. You need to be able to go live to view that Speed sensor.

Good Luck !

So it is not the K pro then. Were you able to connect with the other Kpro with a laptop?

Sounds like a motor sensor is bad.. Try unplugging the speed sensor and seeing if it will do the same thing.

pull the VSS out and go live and spin the gear on the VSS. have someone look at the readings. If it registers, then you may then likely have a setting issue.
