CEL - OBD0

Default CEL - OBD0

Whenever my CEL goes on i look at the computer and it is showing number 17 but i don't know what that is . . . . . any info?

That code is for a bad VSS signal. If your speedo is functioning properly, try resetting the ECU and see if it goes away. I used to get a ghost code 17 on my DOHC ZC swap from time to time even though everything worked properly.

well i got in an accident and then got my car back and the speedo doesn't work at all but all the other gauges do but i will try to reset the computer

If your speedo doesn't work you need to replace the speedo cable before the code goes away. Or maybe it just became dislodged when the accident occurred and you need to push it back in.
