Default "Performance" Drum Brakes

Is there such a thing?

Im getting my brakes services, getting new roters and ****, thinking might as well replace the drum brakes since they are like $80 a pair. So is there performance drum brakes or just stick with OEM?

Also, if I wanna put discs in the back, just need them off a RSX or something right? No welding, all bolt on I hear? If so, any specific year?

I personally wouldn't waste my money on "performance" drum anything. I highly doubt you would notice a difference.

On the topic of rear discs, here's a link.

DRUMS - no "performance" drums, stick to what you have, or get discs.

cheapest and best thing to do probably. you probably wouldn't notice anything, just get a good set of pads for the fronts and that should be sufficient.

Drums are sufficient for stopping power, the only real benefit of discs is that they don't overheat as easily, and are less prone to fade under heavy useage.

Porterfield makes drum shoes with a higher temp lining, I have no idea how much they'd charge for such a thing.

How many miles on your car? You don't need to service drum brakes that often.
