Default ICE Synthetic Polish

Detailed my 01 ITR today. Used the new synthetic polish from Turtle Wax called ICE. I first used a paint cleaner, then the clay bar then the ICE. It worked really well. A real nice shine, but had to work my butt off rubbing it off by hand. The best thing about the stuff is there is no white dust and it does a nice job on the rubber and plastic trim. If it holds up I'll probably continue to use it. I also have the spot detailer but haven't used it yet. I used micro fiber towels to polish it as instructed. Not sure how cotton towels would do.

If it is indeed just a polish, you forgot to top it off with a sealant or carnauba (sp)!

I checked the Turtlewax website and they use the words polish and wax interchangably. The detailer spray does have some carnuba in it though. I sent them an e-mail just to make sure there was no need to put something else on top. The website says you can apply multiple coats to increase the depth, shine and UV protection. Might try another coat tonight.

Thats one reason I don't use any Turtlewax products, they dont seem to know what they are talking about.

I recommend Meguiars, or Mothers.

Yeah, I've always used Meguiars, but wanted to try something new and different.
Remains to be seen if this product is better. No white residue and a great shine is a very good start.

You gotta move away from products that you can buy at advance....

for polish use BC-2
http://magicgarage.biz/dnn/Default.aspx?tabid=74

for wax use P21s
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/p21-127.html

the results speak for themselves, and my paint friggen blows too.

Half the problem with Turtle wax is the fact that not everyone knows how to wax a car properly. There's nothing wrong with Turtle wax products at all.

I've detailed for Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi, I've used tons of professional brand car products (car brite being my fav), and to be honest, the upper scale Turtle wax products are just fine for home use.

My R has been a Turtle wax Platinum car since day one and I'd put it against any car on this site for paint condition. I'm not saying that Turtle wax is better than Mothers or whatever, just saying that they're on par with the competitors. A good detailer can make any car shine with any wax, and someone who doesn't know the trade can make a car look like **** with the best wax.

In my experiences, that ICE stuff is pretty good as a final polishing layer. I use it in between waxes, but I don't use it as, or in place of a wax. But I hear the OP about it being a pain in the *** to buff out. Only Rain-X is harder to rub out.

just some food for thought. ...

Yeah Ryan your right. I'll get on that, but its going to rain today
Just to close the loop though, the Turtle wax techie said no other wax or sealer is needed with this product.

I used a clay bar, Meguiar's paint cleaner, polish, carnuba wax, then NXT generation tech wax.

I love Meguairs NXT paste wax... smells so good! Since I don't have an orbital polisher, I usually just use Meguiars NXT wash, Meguiars claybar (twice a year), use Klasse AIO, then Meguiars NXT paste wax. The end results are great, for my taste.

A bit off topic, but my friend just sent me this:

http://www.vxronline.co.uk/mes...=4618

A complete detail of a Veyron. They used Zymol Royale, which is a 7k dollar carnauba, which comes in a glass case, and is refillable.
