would it be smarter to buy a wheel bearing and have it pressed in or buy a steering knuckle with one already good from a junk yard for 50$?

 

how long do you want to keep the car? If you want to keep it, get a new bearing. Get both done at the same time, usually its a sign that the other one is due as well.

Take the knuckle off (you were doing to anyways, right?) and bring it to a shop to have them pressed out and new ones pressed in. Shouldn't be too expensive.

 

A lot of times you will have to get a new hub as well. I would reccomend just getting a new hub for $50. Cheaper.

 

ya see i dont think im going to keep the civic much longer because it keeps giving me hell, i got to get a 1.5 lower end for it right now bc my cranks out and all that good stuff. ya ill take the spindle off, but i dont want to put much more money in to the car than i have to.

 

junkyard just make sure the car hasnt been rolled with out axels i got my bearings at cost for 60 a piece and pressed them in my self so there's some figures for you

 

Id say just get them brand new...you never know what you're getting into w/ junkyard parts :/
