Default what kind of primary battery for a 1000 watt RMS system?

I am putting a pretty decent but modest system back in my car and am wondering what the best battery to use would be. I will also have a carputer and a little extra neon lighting. I would like to get a red top to match my black and red color scheme, but optima says they are a starting battery and only meant for 400 watt and less systems. How about Interstate? I am willing to spend up to $125, but would like to stay black in color. Any recommendations?

i am running a 1360 watt rms system and use a duralast gold battery from autozone and a "big 3" upgrade. i have had this for about 2 months and see no problems or stress with my battery or charging system. unless you want to listen to your stereo while the car is off, stick to a normal battery.

Ditto both the above, if your going to spend money, do it on an upgraded alt. 94

u asked about battery... go with an optima yellow top. if u have a weak battery, i wouldn't suggest killing it with a powerful amp. now what type of car do u have? don't go with a reg battery or even an optima red... only optima yellow. they're designed for serious audio applications. if u need more info on why.. i'm sure u can read up on optima's website. i had a brochure somewhere in my toolbox. on the last fiberglass trunk we build.. we installed 3 yellow tops and a high powered alternator. that was for 4 solobaric 12" L7's, two kicker 1000.1 and one eclipse 4ch. never had any problems.

I went ahead and got an 800 cca interstate for now at least. $90. it is actually for my '91 300zx twin turbo. i killed the alternator with the system last time and that was without the 200 watt 2 channel amp. i think the old alternator was on it's way out anyway, but when the motor is dropped to install the new upgraded turbos maybe i'll get an HO alternator too.
