What kind of gear do you guys ride with when going to school?
gear wise, does anyone here wear a 1pc suit when riding to school? in addition to helmet and gloves, i just wear a jacket and jeans...i dunno, looking for more protection but will feel wierd walking around school with a one piece on.
I ride to school with a helmet, a jacket, and gloves.
i feel weird enough walking around with a leather jacket and carbon fiber knuckle gloves.

you could get some motorcycle specific jeans... i know they make 'em with like triple layered kevlar knees and junk like that, i've never shopped for them so i'm not sure what the exact features are, but i dunno just an idea... or just get some CE knee guards to wear under your normal jeans. oooor chaps? haha

Maybe you should look into getting some Bohn body armor. They make some armored spandex underwear pants. Wearing a 1 piece to school is just ridiculous, honestly.
On my way to work/everywhere I wear jeans, jacket, helmet, gloves, and bootZ.

my campus is about 500 feet from my house (my classes are further, but still close). so i just wear helmet, gloves, and whatever else i was wearing anyway.

When i rode to this job i used to have that was very motorcycle friendly i would wear a 2-piece leather suit sometimes and just change in the bathroom. But most of the time i was wearing jacket helmet gloves and boots.
When going to my internship in downtown seattle last summer i just wore jacket helmet and gloves most of the time.
It's a tough call. I live two minutes from campus so i don't ride to school, but if i had to i probably wouldn't wear my leather pants just because of the hassle. If there were some kind of locker room on campus that was easily accessible then i might.

I just wear a jacket and gloves when going to work... with jeans and normal shoes. The 1pc comes out for spirited riding and track days... when I suggested you get a 1pc in that other thread I didn't imply that you should commute in it (that's not a bad thing though)... keep your textile jacket for commuting and get a full suit for when you go out riding.

Ever consider walking? Seems like you could get there in the time it takes to put a helmet and gloves on.

aren't all chaps assless?
aren't all chaps assless?
Helmet/gloves/jacket
I have gone to class w/ no jacket several times and I have ridden with no helmet a few times as well. I am definitely guilty of that. No helmet laws in IL makes it really easy to not give a **** when you are just scooting a mile or two to your destination.
I believe all chaps are assless.... otherwise they are just crotchless

I'd like to get some riding pants that don't look too obnoxious to wear on days when I'm riding around a lot but also have places to be...
