Yes, you will blind other drivers.
Do not put HID's in fluted lenses. It is not only illegal but dangerous.

Ok but no one is really answering my question i already know i might get a ticket or blind people i just wanted to know if they are going to burn the stock headlight housing or fry wires things like that
seriously, if you don't care about blinding other drivers, or possibly endangering other peoples lives. I do not feel like you deserve help here.
We don't want to help you potentially harm other people.

Mistake number 1. Trust me.
Mistake number 1. Trust me.
I am more than willing to help.
Brighter lights are always good. The thing about that.....there is a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things.
If you put HID's in your stock headlights you will see better yes. But you will blind almost all oncoming traffic. If you are passing me when I am driving my truck, there are good odds I am going to run you over.
If you are going to do it the right way (non fluted lenses with a proper HID retrofit) I am more than willing to help.
I am not trying to start an internet fight by any means. Quite contrary actually. But I do not want to contribute to the possible injury of another person. If you are willing to do things the right way, you will actually probably find most of my posts fairly helpful.

Unfortunatey nobody that I know of makes anything. You have to make something yourself.
Most people use TSX, S2000, BMW HID projectors and ballasts with some form of aftermarket headlight lenses. You have to cut your old headlight housing and find a way to mount the projector where the old bulb was.
If you put HID's in your stock fluted housings, the flutes in the lenses will scatter the light in all sorts of crazy directions.
When you do a projector retrofit, you use smooth (clear) lenses. With the retrofit you get a sharp cutoff line that will not blind other drivers.
Eran has some better information than I can give about HID's and how to get them working properly in your car.

Listen to this man, Silverstars are around $35 for a pair. Or do a straight up conversion which will cost you lots of money.

1: Like I said, it is illegal to use HID's with fluted lenses. There is a reason for this. It is dangerous.
2: Lets see a picture of your cutoff line. I bet there is more scattered light than you know.
3: I hope you get pulled over and your car gets impounded, I will be on the lookout so I can buy it cheap.

5ft or closer

facing the wall~ 25ft out

~ 30ft

approx eye height of oncoming traffic, mind you no headlights aiming back for reference.

straight ahead

properly aimed, down towards the passenger side(why the light has so much glare)

1. it's illegal to do a lot of modifications to your car that most people do, how is this any different?
2. so what? it's not like i need em.
3. i hope the condoms you use are good, i'd hate to see ingnorance and indifference spread

I was hoping someone who knew anything about HID retrofit would post... Yeah if you jam a HID bulb randomly into your housing its not gonna work (scattered light etc) but it'll do the same **** in projectors... THERE ARE OEM CARS WITH HIDS IN FLUTED LENSES I dono where the **** ppl got this idea that fluted lenses = scattered light, my Hella E-Code fluted lenses in my PGT have better cutoff than some oem projectors... Sylvania even sells a fully DOT approved fluted lens hid kits for sealed beam applications lol....
/rant
Anyhow I agree if you improperly install an HIDs in your car and blind me I'd wanna kill you too, but if install HIDs in stock housings PROPERLY and aim your headlights PROPERLY everyone will be OK... Besides I see tons of cars that blind the **** out of me with blue halogen bulbs aimed into the sky and the only HIDs that've I've noticed blinding me are from a local ricer with an H3 retrofit kit hot glued into his stock H4 EG headlights... I know a bunch of people with retrofit hid projectors and retrofit hid kits in stock housings, as long as the arc is lined up exactly where the filament was you're good, if you have the light source in the wrong spot halogen or hid is gonna be jacked (see people putting H4 bulbs in H4H housings for instance).
P.S. For the record yes HID arc will make a Halogen housing's cutoff slightly less precise due to the shape of an arc vs a filament and if your lenses have a **** beam pattern to start with things aren't gonna end well, but if your lights have a decent cutoff aim them right and it'll be fine.
In the end just look at your lights on a wall as pictured above, if it looks like **** try to fix it or do a full retrofit and don't use your lights while they're messed up is that so hard?
Edit: Oh yeah and to answer your origonal question HIDs run cooler than Halogen bulbs.

I'd agree with the logic that many mods are illegal but are performed without much of a peep from most people here.
Fact in matter, I too have PnP HID in my OEM crx housings, and they are just fine - I've had people tell me that they look and perform great, especially since aiming them correctly. No blinding at all.

man i have 4000k in my 87 rex and they are bright. but they are not melting anything. I had to lower the light down to solve the blinding thing but I still have more then enought light to see for a good distance.
