best upgrades to start with on d17a1
i just got my 01 civic lx i bought cold air v2 dc sports header and greddy sp2 full exhaust for it and 17" enkei rsv gunmetal what are some really good upgrades for my car to road racing and (drag sometimes.)
its still gonna be my DD but im thinkin eventually to get my engine bored ported polished and blueprinted and low compression/turbo it.
help me out im not the greatest with this.

you sir, can go shoot yourself now. road/street racing is retarded. period
also, a d17a1 is NOT a drag racer. so many people think that by putting on IHE, they'll gain enough power to outrun.. say a mustang.... WRONG! ... stupid fast and furious
also, if you seriously wanted good performance, you wouldn't have went with 17s. search and learn why

Figure out what kind of racing you want to do first, then base your mods on that.
Before you start at the track, give autoX a try. It's a good place to start and it'll show you where the car will need improvements.
As far as driving lessons, sign up for next years SCCA solo class.

thats like comparing apples and oranges my friend.
Both take skill( autox a little more)
But they arent even close to comparably.

quick tip on driving... when you want to drive Safe. always shift on 3k RPM ^_^ and never go above it or its considered speeding in most places.
when racing keep it off the streets. if the police get you, they can charge you with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, Speeding, evading a police officer, and last but not least any illegal things contained within your car. your Bail will exceed 12k, and your car will be towed. in most places if your car is not clamed within a month it belongs to the government but some places is 3 months. doing your time in jail for that tis gay... trust me i would rather pay some cash to have fun on a track over drive in a street full of people that might do some crazy ****....
