cams have been in this built head for two setups,never had a problem cam number crower 63401 T2. my mechanic has built plenty of boosted b-series motors and this is the first time for him. any help would be nice? cams broke on a low boost dyno pull,and a kid i know broke the same cams.

 

the valve adjustment wasnt set too tight was it? other than that i cant think of anything else unless it was just a bad batch

this head was on point,built by a well known mechanic in my area.

 

this isnt the first time this has happened. good luck. i hope there is not to much damage to the journals.

 

There was a time that a lot of crower cams cores were breaking.There newer cores (a few years now) seem to have cured the problem.

 

I've had 2 sets of crower cams break on me as well,a good friend of mine broke a set of all motor cams,and i also lost a whole motor and tranny due to a crower stroker crank snapping on me on the dyno..
Hopefully the newer stuff is made better,but i gave up on crower stuff for over 2 yrs now.

i seen bleep snap a cam in Maple Grove in 2003. that was the first i heard of the madness

 

WTF...this is the first time I heard about cam shearing like that.

 

I have broke a set of stage 2 turbo cams and a friend of mine broke a set of all motor cams.

 

been there, done that.

We broke a set of H22 cams a few years backs.

Brian @ Crower was good to deal with and helped us get back on track.

 

Damn Paris thats some messedup stuff man! I tuned that car before and we didn't have a problem with that we got the car to 525whp are they the same cams you got with the car? When winstons cams broke Brian Crower helped him out as much as he could.... get that thing back together man I know she has a lot in her.... GOOD LUCH

 

I've seen two of my friends snap the exact same cams..The new crowers people have had problems with left and right..

I run the old school crowers (402B) and have not had one problem yet with them..I've been running them for 4 years now with no issues..

Yeah i was gonna mention your situation Freddy, it also jacked up that brand new PT61 at the time

 

I broke 2 sets of Crowers ( LS ) and 2 sets of Cranes (Vtec) ..

yup my friend broke the same set at a track event.

 

o man i have the same cam in my carm but have not had any problems

 

We broke some crower all motor cams back in 2002. that was it for us and crower.

 

crower cams are garbage. I broke a set on the dyno, and lost a Jim Justice ported head. They stated it must have been from coil bind. Crower's customer service is terrible and i will never use another crower product again. Crower has the worst customer service, and their product is garbage.

 

i broke a set on my old ls turbo eg about 3-4years ago...thank god it was only a stock ls motor with arp head studs...i called and complained to them and told me they were not installed correctly...meanwhile there was atleast 1 post every two weeks on h-t with the same problem...i never bought another crower part again nor did the shop i worked at.

 

Ive had a couple friends that had crower cams and snapped them in half , i also had a pair of stage 2 crower cams but sold them because i didnt want to risk breaking them so i got skunk2 pro 2's to replace them for piece of mind

my cams are about two years old.

 

i got a brand new gt42,i hope she's alright
