Identify Calipers?
I pulled these off a 88-91 Hatch, The problem is the guy who used to own the car that we got it from was getto as hell, so the car has 2 different calipers on it. I think the 2nd one is 88-89 CRX and 88-91 Hatch, while the other one might be 90-91 CRX, or 1g Teg. Anybody have a idea?

Thanks guys thats what i was figuring with that lil notch in the Pad

the 90-93 Rotors are larger, while the 86-89 Are not, thats why i was wondering, the DA calipers wont bolt to the stock crx knuckles either so, but the 1g will.

youre correct.
match the two calipers asap. its not good to have different calipers.

Another quick question, I was looking at Majestics site, Do the Calipers change on the Hatchs, they only have the newer 90-91 Calipers listed under CRX's, the hatch's all have the 88-89 style listed, even if its 90-91.
Sorry to high jack but i had been wondering is there an advantage in size from the CRX to the civic? different pad bigger etc??
Which stock caliper for EF is the biggest and baddest without changing knuckles.

After a lil bit of research and measuring the 90-91 CRX Si calipers do have a larger piston, 53mm vs the 48mm on the 88-89 Si/DX 90-91 DX, and 88-91 Hatch.
You can swap them but if your still running your 13/16" Master cylinder you will increase your pedal travel, you can swap to the 7/8" master cylinder off the 90-91 CRX Si and it should be all good, the rear brakes might have a little more tendency to lock but nothing a little bit of threshold braking wont fix.
Another slight upgrade would be the 86-89 Integra Calipers, they are a 51mm Piston so its inbetween the DX and CRX Si calipers, the 1Gen Integra does run the 7/8" Master Cylinder tho so it would be worth it to upgrade to that as well. The only downside with the 1g brakes is i think the pad selection is less than the Si CRX.
Overall theres not much use upgrading, unless you want the 7/8" master and the 53mm Piston inside the caliper for better pedal modulation.
The 90-91 CRX Si pad is literaly 1/16" wider and taller so its nothing id care about.

oh yeah. thats a good point. since your MC is the smaller sized, you might as well try to get a matching caliper for the smaller civic sized caliper instead of getting a matching CRX caliper.
plus im sure itll be much easier to find since theyre more common.

So if i upgrade to the 90-91 CRX caliper and the master cylinder (which upon reading a bit i can use the 89-91 predule or the accord lxi with the stock booster)
can i use the dx caliper bracket with the larger piston caliper.
I already have lots of Hawk pads i want to burn up. Or do i have to order 90-91 crx pads?
Upon consulting the hawk website i came across another question what is the piston size of the AWD civic caliper?
