I replaced the balance shaft seal and the front main/oil pump seal today, now for the cam seal..
This requires removing the camshaft correct? Or can it be removed like the balance shaft seal and front main by pulling it out? I removed the cam sprocket.

Thanks for any help, yes i know i should have bought a service manual
.

So all the cam cap bolts need to come off if it can not be replaced the same way as the other seals. I've done the front cam seals on my h22 but the cam followers/lifters(whatever you want to call them and underneath). damn sohc
My question is if i have to pull the cam/valvetrain cover do i need to rubber band anything together or will it all stay together as a unit?
I looked on majestic honda and didnt see a rear cam seal, i assume it's just sealed by the distributor o-ring? Sorry i know it has only been a few hours.

Very, this engine is at 95k. I put on a balance shaft seal retainer too along with a new water pump.
I used this to install the crank seal
and I used a deepwell socket for the balance shaft seal.

just to answer this - you need to band it or hold it together somehow. if it comes apart it's a bitch to get back together.

i just replaced the cam seal the same as the balance shaft and crank seals. popped it out and popped it in.
and yes the otherside is sealed by the dizzy o ring
If you missed the cam shaft seal, i think you can do it by itself, just zip tie the timing belt onto the cam gear before you pull off the cam gear bolt. That way you can keep the timing assembly nice and tight and reassembly should be easy.
