Default secondary air pump

hello everyone i just had a question. My check engine light went off and when i took it to honda they told me it was a secondary air pump and it has to due with emissions. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and is it real serious because honda told me it wasn't. If anyone had to change this part how did you go about it honda wants 1100 can i find this part cheaper????????????? Sorry for the length. Thanks s2000 pals

It's not $1100, it's more like $590. I pulled the entire assembly including the fuse, no check engine light.

is is serious? serious enough to trigger a cel and fail smog test

what exactly was the code? what happen most of the time is some vaccum line is loose and trigger a code. it happen to me once when i did a valve lash adjustment and knockec the check valve loose.

the code was like p0004 and it was a secondary pump where would i find a pump like that from

As iam7head replied above...... make absolutly sure that you didn't just knock a vacuume hose loose. It doesn't even have to be totally disconnected just loose or routed improperly. Happens a lot when people install aftermarket intakes. Take a look around and if it is truly broken buy the part and replace it yourself..... it's not that difficult

front driverside behind the bumper and fender liner.
i had the same code because the clip that holds the plug in place broke... i just plugged it back in and ran some electric tape around that bad boy and never had a issue after that.....

Secondary air
Ijection system
Incorrect flow

i got the code pulled by auto zone, checkers, advance parts.. with the same result,, i don't know what to do.

chekc the vac hose adn make sure its plugged in...
also check the vac lines that run behind the TB they come out sometimes causing the pump CEL to come up
