Tein RA's owners help please !! (did the search)
what is the right way to adjust my shocks, should I adjust from the right (stiffest) to the left (softest) or from left to right? it's very important to me, becasue my four shocks have different click numbers(18, 18, 19, 20) and I can't understand the japenese manual. Please help, thanks in advance !!
i have HA with upper pillow ball mounts, right to tighten, left to loosen. RA and HA are identical except your are a bit stiffer and a bit lighter in weight, other than that they the same.
It's easy. Just make sure you turn it left until it does not move any longer.
Righty=Tighty, Lefty=lossey. Don't go over 16 clicks as it will but doing this will basically strip out the damper soon...so don't go over 16 even if it allows you go beyond 16.

thanks. I also want to know all adjustment steps. which one is correct ?
1. should I first switch to the end of right (stiffest) and then start loosen it till the level I want.
OR
2. swich to the end of left (softest) and then tighten (to the right) it till the level I want.

As I know from a friend that does read Japanese, you tighted(right twist) then count down as you twist...16 down is the softest vs. leaving it cranked is the hardest. You're supposed to do this everytime adjust even for 1 incremental change.

yeh spoon_ek9 is right. for the tein's it's "full right" as the first step. then turn it left to the number of clicks desired, but no less then 16.

exact words i was gonna use
almost right. u need to turn to the most stiff(clockwise) then turn back 15 click(see, the rightest is 16, then u turn 1 click, its 15 if u turn 16 click, that will be -1), then its the softest.
essex - yes thats what you need to do. Start from full stiff (full right) then click down to 15 for soft (turning left).

yes, RA is alot lighter than HA. HA is a entry level suspension(steel, twin tube), and RA is a competition suspension(aluinmium, mono tube).
i asked this exact same question while ago and i was told not to go over 16 clicks from full left lock. i think it was aj pwr and god that confirmed.
i have the assembly manual that i can scan. anyone read jap?
