Default Best method for cutting endtanks off of an Intercooler?

I have an intercoole that I need to make custom endtanks for and I just wanted to see who has cut endtanks off before. I have a very nice band saw at work, and I was thinking about using that and just cutting right down the core side of the weld, does anyone know if this will be okay to do? Thanks.

Perfect, exactley what I was looking for. Did you cut it off on the endtank side of the weld? Thats what it looks like I just want to make sure.

i always just use an ALU ZipCut. works great, more control, and you can cut off the weld completely so when you re-weld it you don't have to blend in to the old weld

I pretty much cut the weld in half. Took 20 seconds just about.

Just use the plasma man

If you can't somehow use the bandsaw at work, I'm sure my green machine from hell can take care of it.

I hate plasma cutters, its nice and fast for big industrial stuff or anything that is going to get mig welded after haha. Seriously if you don;t have a big band saw get some Al, .045 cut off wheels and you'll be done in less than 5 minutes and as long as you don't have the shakes you'll have a nice cut.
