Lowering Question ( already read the sticky)
ok i have a cd5 and i am looking to lower it. I want to use the eibach sportline springs. I was reading the sticky that i am going to need after market shocks. it also said aftermarket damper ( isnt that the same as shocks? Well anyway my question is can i get some kyb GR2 struts with the sportline springs?
i have a couple of Questions. i know my car has struts right now. is there a difference if i get shocks instead of struts (is that even possible)? and again i am for sure gonna get the eibach sportline springs. Do you think i will need an aftermarcket camber kit?
It's not possible to replace a shock with a strut, or vice versa. Let me explain the difference between a strut and a shock.
A shock does one thing: dampen and control the spring's movement.
A strut performs two tasks:
1. dampen the spring's movement, just as a shock does.
2. provide structural support for the vehicle's suspension.
Struts, shocks... don't worry so much about what people call them or label them. Both terms get used at the wrong times.

If you have a CD chassis you don't have struts. You have shocks all the way around.

Camber isn't really a problem if you drop your car 2" or less. It's the toe that kills your tires. Always make sure to get alignment after lowering a vehicle.
