Gixxer 1000 power settings?
So I was at the local dealer and saw the 2007 GSX-R 1000. The dealer told me that there's a switch that can basically limit the power to three settings, like a 600, 750, or 1000. And that it was new this year?? Anyone has a clue what he was talking about??
I liked the idea. I was thinking of using a lower setting unless i have a passenger riding with me, then i would use normal use.

first bike?
And it's not really "power settings." It's different fuel maps for different environment conditions.
don't expect to see more than a 10hp difference.

yeah the impression i get from the specs, and just from what i know about fuel and timing maps, you really won't notice much difference unless you're drag racing or on a track. for most street riding i think i'd be hard to notice.

And ruin the market for spare parts.
The switch idea is, I guess, good. In the end, it all comes down to your right hand.

In one issue of motorcyclist they said the B and C settings have near identical outputs to the GSXR 750 and 600. Except in setting B where at full throttle it is identical to setting A, but anything less than full throttle matches the 750.

No this isn't my first bike. I was riding on an '02 600f4i until i sold it because I needed the funds to buy my wife a ring. I'm looking into another one because the bike felt sluggish, especially with someone riding one up. But that's what the dealer told me, identical out puts to the 750 and 600. I was actually looking at the 750 or even the R1.

my friend said his 600 felt slow as well.
the problem is that the bikes dont wake up until the high RPM range, and alot of people arent going to take advantage of the power above 9k unless they're on a track.

I rode a 2007 GSXR600 the other day and it was a little rocket.
i don't know what the heck people mean when they say that a modern 600 feels slow because they certainly are not - especially when they're revved like they're mean to be.

when people say modern 600s are slow they probably just don't understand the linear power curve. If they grabbed a fist full of throttle and rode it out till redline they'd see what screamer it is.
