2001 f4i ?
i just bought an 01 f4i about 2 weeks ago and was on a long ride today. i got stuck in traffic and was not paying attention to anything when i hear my cooling fan kick on. i look at the temp guage and it was sitting at 225*. what im wondering is that normal? i would think it would kick on way before that.

you're fine. It's meant to be cooled by the cooling fan. Cars do it too. Infact, they do it alot. On older engines the fan is directly mounted to the motor and spins constantly.
It's when your fan doesn't come on that you should be worried.

cool, i was just worried since it wasnt coming on until well above boiling temp. it just seems that it should run cooler than that, but if thats normal than i wont worry. thanks guys
