Default Leaking PS pump 92 Accord-just replace seal???

I have a 1992 Accord, 320,000 miles with it's original power steering pump. It has developed a leak at the input shaft behind the pulley. I see there is a simple o-ring seal (part 19 here)

Is this easy to replace, as in

- remove mounting bolts
- rotate pump so ps fluid does not spill out
- remove pulley
- remove seal
- assemble in reverse??

It would be nice as my options are a used pump, new one for $400, new seal for $3, or keep adding fluid. Thanks for any help.

yowzas, 400 for that part?
I think if my cb7 came to that, I'd get a different car.

I say go for it, and replace the seal, if that seems to be all that is wrong with the power steering pump. I would probably drain the fluid first. What have you got to lose?

replace the frt seal only,, you can do it on the car and there is no need to drain the fluid either,, just remove the belt, remove the frt pulley bolt careful some of those are left heanded threads ( i believe your car is ) ,, once pulley is out, remove old seal, install the new one ,,I have done it many times , piece of cake , 10 minutes job ,once seal is in,, clean up the area , add some fluid and chk for leaks

I had one leaking on mine and went ahead and replaced all the seals. This was about 40,000 miles ago and its still running perfect. It ended up costing me about $30 which was way better than buying a new one.

Thanks-all. You guys are great for weighing in on something so minor.

Honda-Master, should I use any honda-bond or anything?? Or is it just a pop-out, pop-in? Thanks for the pointer on the threads, that would have gotten the job off to a rough, curse-laden start.
