Yes if your going to use the 1.6 motor,,,, all single cam trannys are the same!! unless there cable or hydro or a gay-lude 2.2 single cam tranny... but good luck with your swap man!!!!!

Guys, Guys Guys... The motor year or model trim doesn't matter. All that matters is that the motor is a D-Series. Flywheels and clutchs match to the transmission you wish to use. You are right that the flywheels and clutches vary between years. To figure out the year of your transmission you can count the number of 'rings' that are machined into the very end of the trannys inputshaft (closest to the motor and flywheel)

No Rings = 1988
1 Ring = 1989
2 Rings = 1990-91
EDIT:
84-87 Civic/CRX (All) 190mm Clutch Disc/19 spline Inputshaft/Shaft Size 13/16"
1988 Civic/CRX (all) 190mm Clutch Disc/21 Spline Inputshaft/Shaft Size 7/8"
1989 Civic/CRX (all) 200mm Clutch Disc/20 Spline Inputshaft/Shaft Size 7/8"
1990-1995 Civics & CRXs (all) 212mm Clutch Disc/20 Spline/Shaft Size 7/8"

I read the 88 was the test mule, being the first model year of the 4Gs. So, I would imagine the flywheel would be different.
Are you plannig to also do an MPFI Swap? 'Cause you're gonna need the wiring harness from the Si, along w/the ECU.
I did an MPFI Swap on my 89 Civic DX hb, I took the Si head, cam, intake manifold, ECU and wiring harness and installed them on the 1.5 block. Makes a big difference in the car's pickup. Not that it's a rocket, but much better than the DPFI.

your 88 crx hf has a 1.5l d series transmission, a b20 has a 1.8l B series transmission...
if you dont know that a b and d series tranny wont bolt up then you are not ready to do a b series motor swap...
to put a b series anything into an ef you need different tranny, ecu, axles, motor mounts, shift linkage, and intermediate shaft...
