i changed alt belts last week

ever since then they snap shred flip over or just plain dissapear when i get on it hard.. its a 400whp d series and i rev it to 8500

i checked the pully it looks straight and good when u rev it in idle it doesent wobble its sexy looking.. the alt pully is nice looking too and it spins freely..

they both look lined up good as far as i can see
and ive been tightening them with about a 1/8th inch deflection

i tightened the dog **** out of one and it flipped itself over on the pullys and ate itself... anyone hasd this prob and or found a soloution

 

I have has this problem, at the track I kept flipping over. I replaced the belt and never had a problem again. 1/8 in deflection might be to tight, If I recall general spec is 1/4 inch.
