When I start my car it goes up to 1500 and then goes down to 1000 and then it goes up to 1250 and then down to normal idle .. but then when i drive its okay, and then if i would put it in neutral or when i come to a stop, this happens as well..

please let me know what you think the problem may be

 

if when you are stopped or in neutral and the rpms keep going up and down then your TPS sensor is bad, my civic had the same problem and i replaced it and it went back to normal idle and stayed there...

 

i figured out the problem, i completely forgot to get a vacuum cap for the vacuum line when i tooke out my cruise control lol ... so you live in allentown, i live in hellertown
